Weekend Care Packages with Good Samaritan Hunger Center (Volunteer Opportunity!!!)

In partnership with our friends at Good Samaritan Hunger Center, we will be providing care packages every weekend to students in need! These “care packages” hope to supplement a student’s need for food over the weekend.

We’re really excited about this new initiative with Good Samaritan Hunger Center and furthering our mission to equip kids for school, sports, and life. Part of that mission is ensuring no kid should have to worry about where their next meal is coming from.

We will have a lot of volunteer opportunities coming up in order to help prepare care packages and delivery them to designated distribution locations. Our 1st volunteer opportunity is next Wednesday 9/23 @ 5:30-7:00 p.m at Byrider Hall (420 S. Hawkins 44320). Masks and gloves will be provided. If you’re interested in helping please contact us ASAP at 330.323.4805 or Contact@FullyEquipped.co. We hope to see you soon!

As always, thank you so much your donations that help us fulfill needs in the community! If would like to donate to Good Samaritan Hunger Center you can do so on their website. Additionally, you can donate to FullyEquipped on our website.

Introducing Our ‘Team Up’ and ‘Equip Every Kid’ Programs

The FullyEquipped team is very excited to announce two new programs to start the new year! In 2020 we’ll be introducing our Team Up and Equip Every Kid programs.

At FullyEquipped we believe every kid should be able to participate in sports and school without having to worry about if they have enough money or resources.

By partnering with underfunded local schools to equip kids for school, sports, and life, we hope to encourage and increase student-athlete participation in underfunded local schools.

With our Equip Every Kid Program, our goal to make sure every kid that wants to be a student-athlete has the fundamental resources they need to do so. In our world, fundamental can mean: supplemental food programs, books, uniforms, shoes, athletic equipment ranging from sports bras to basketball shoes, and much more.

Head over to our Equip Every Kid page to learn more.

Another way hope to give young men and women the opportunity to reap the benefits of athletics is through our Team Up Program.

Team Up allows you to support a sports team at a local underfunded school by helping equip them with what they need for their season.

When you decide to “Team Up” with a team in your area, you not only commit to supporting a team with the resources they need, but also to building a friendship and connection that’s bigger than just sports.

You can head over to our Team Up page to learn more. If you have an athletic team or volunteer group that wants to partner with a local team in need, you can sign up here.

We are really excited for what the new year has in store! We hope that the Team Up and Equip Every Kid programs can give more young men and women the opportunity to reap the benefits of being a student-athlete.

God Bless,

The FullyEquipped Team

P.S. Do you have or know a school sports team in need? Sign your team up to be apart of the Team Up program and receive assistance from the FullyEquipped community!

The Akron East Weight Room Renovation is Complete!

Another FullyEquipped weight room renovation is complete! If you missed our previous renovation at North High School, check it out here.

This time around, we have re-equipped and refurbished the Akron East High School weight room! The new facility is available to all students, faculty, staff, and athletic teams at East High School. We’re excited for how much the new facility will be utilized!

For a reminder of where we started, here are some pictures of the old facility.

The new facility features a completely updated floor with durable rubber and dynamic turf. The brand new Rogue Fitness rig has four lifting stations with adjustable benches and boxes that will last for years to come.

Old machines with wear and tear have been reupholstered with new material. Additional machines and weights have been brought in to increase the utility and functionality of the space.

For a finishing touch, wall graphics were provided in order to facilitate ownership and pride in the new facility.

We are honored to have been apart of such an awesome project. As the wall now reads, we hope the new facility promotes increased excellence, resilient attitudes, greater strength, and more teamwork than ever before. Here’s to East pride! Go Dragons!

North High School Soccer and their new equipment bags!

First off, we want to say thank for all of your generous donations! Due to your generosity, we’re able to continue to fulfill needs in the Akron Public School community. Most recently, we were able to provide sports equipment bags for our friends at North High School that will be used for years to come.

Additionally, we’re in the process of renovating Akron East High School’s weight room! By the end of the summer, we’re hoping to celebrate the renovated weight room and share our progress.

Speaking of the end of summer, a new school year is approaching fast! We at FullyEquipped are fundraising for a lot of needs that would make a BIG difference for our students in the Akron Public School community.

Even just a $20 donation means school supplies for the entire year for a student, much needed personal hygiene products or even a pair of shoes.  With your support our students won’t have to worry about basic items like school supplies, snacks, and equipment.

Help us equip our students for school, sports, and life by donating at FullyEquipped.co/Donate. 100% of all the donations we receive go to helping those in need!

Multi-School Event: Akron Mayor Dan Horrigan

On Monday night, we hosted our 1st multi-school event for the student-athletes of East, Kenmore-Garfield, and North High Schools. Thank you everyone who helped make the night possible!

In addition to the provided meal and some fun activities, we were extremely grateful to have had acting Akron Mayor, Dan Horrigan, as our keynote speaker for the evening!

Mayor Horrigan wanted the students-athletes to know that they can do anything they put their mind to. He emphasized that they are the future and reminded them not to let others define what they are capable of.

Lastly, Mayor Horrigan wanted the students to know that he was there for them. He wants to invest in them and see them succeed. He takes great pride in serving the community in grew up in and wants nothing more than to help Akron.

Thank you, Mayor Horrigan, for taking the time out of your busy schedule to share your wisdom and invest in Akron’s youth!

Thank you East high school for hosting us! Thank you to all the coaches, faculty, and staff from East, Kenmore-Garfield and North for making the night possible. Thank you Regina’s Pizza, Devitis Italian Market, and Dontino’s for donating pizza, subs, and pasta for the evening. We’re looking forward to continue working in the APS community for many years to come!
